My first introduction to mindfulness, this book outlines the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program week-by-week. It's full of evidence-based practices that anyone can use to "embark upon a journey of self-development, self-discovery, learning, and healing."

The Heart of Yoga by TKV Desikachar

One of the simplest yet most beautiful texts presenting Yoga in the Krishnamacharya tradition, it also includes an accessible translation of the Yoga Sutra.

A Path with Heart by Jack Kornfield

Written with love and filled with transformative meditations, it expands on the gifts and challenges of spiritual life.

The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo

This gift of a book is a beautiful collection of daily readings and practices.

Teaching Yoga: Exploring the Teacher-Student Relationship by Donna Farhi

A must for any current or aspiring teacher, this easy read presents the importance of ethical relationships within a modern context.

Overcoming Trauma through Yoga by David Emerson & Elizabeth Hopper

This is a wonderful introduction to trauma-sensitive Yoga for teachers, clinicians, and students.
