MEET STEPHANIE JAIN

If you are ready to create a sense of balance… if you seek a holistic approach to wellness… if you can breathe… I’m here to co-create the PERFECT personal Yoga practice to support you. No handstands or flexibility required (really!).

Since 2012, I have been a dedicated student of haṭha Yoga, and I began teaching full-time in 2015; you can learn more about my teachers HERE. Today as a Yoga therapist in the classical viniyoga tradition of Śrī T. Kriṣṇamācārya, I get to work 1-on-1 with folks like yourself through movement, breath, sound, awareness, reflection, and lifestyle habits, to cultivate change from the inside out.

The journey through your inner landscape toward healing is ongoing and non-linear; there will be sunshine and rain clouds, and you may have to revisit the same lessons many times. But you aren’t alone; I’m here to walk alongside you. Yoga has played a huge role in my own journey through perfectionism, depression, and insomnia. My heart’s desire is to share with you the gifts I have received from this practice: a better relationship with myself, a healthier lifestyle, and a sense of joy to be part of this world.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy is the modern, individualized application of Yoga’s ancient knowledge and practices, with a concern for personal health and well-being. In this whole-person approach, I create a Yoga practice tailored to your specific needs, comfort level, and goals. The first session is an intake – we will discuss your current concerns, health history, food and sleep habits, and daily routine, and then explore some simple movements and breathing. You will leave with at least one practical tool you can utilize right away.

In follow-up sessions, I will teach you a personal practice for you to do on your own, inviting you to become an active participant in your healing journey. Your practice may include a combination of appropriate āsana (postures), prāṇāyāma (breathing techniques), meditation, sound, journaling/art, and lifestyles changes. Each subsequent session will ensure that your practice helps you move progressively toward a state of balance.

Yoga therapy is well-suited for folks in any condition who are experiencing imbalance physically, physiologically, mentally, and/or emotionally. I especially enjoy working with individual adults (ages 16+) experiencing any of the following:

  • Anger

  • Anxiety and/or depression

  • Chronic illness

  • Digestive issues

  • Irregular or painful periods

  • Pain

  • Perfectionism

  • Pregnancy (pre- and post-natal)

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Spiritual inquiry

  • Trauma

Schedule a personalized Yoga session at your convenience, join a group class, explore in a workshop, or go deep in a retreat experience. My Maryville,TN home has a sunny practice space, and I'm willing to travel to you within Blount, Knox, and Sevier counties. If virtual is your preference, we'll connect via Zoom. I can't wait to meet you, friend!

About: About

I’ve had the breath-expansive opportunity to witness Stephanie teach public, community yoga classes and also receive individualized teaching. In each class, Stephanie skillfully shares and adapts ancient teachings for the modern yoga practitioner with clarity, compassion, a twinkle of humor to foster connection and lightness.

Her quality of presence is an invitation in and of itself, encouraging more spaciousness, ease and gentle focus in interactions, in how we relate to our bodies, to ourselves.
